To Love & Achieve

Film documentary
(Work in progress)

Film director seeks collaboration & financial funding for completion.

The Imagination workshop is a theatrical performance troupe of actors comprised of developmentally disabled adults from the Chicago area. For two years, documentary filmmaker Rick Erwin and crew have filmed over 28 hours of the theater group.

Filmed entirely in Verite' style, their stories are autobiographical, shaped through discussion, written to script and then performed on stage. The anthology of stories includes topics such as AIDS in China, homelessness, and spiritual enlightenment. The result is an intensely moving documentary... offering rarely, if ever seen points of view.

When completed, this one-hour documentary will reveal the essence and spirit that adults with disabilities give to us, while teaching the larger population important lessons about love, life and relationship through the art of theatre performance.

I'm seeking collaboration & financial funding for film's completion. Ideally, an individual or organization that promotes the important roles people with disabilities play in the larger society. Through this collaborative relationship, we will work together to complete the film and develop a strategy for optimal viewer ship and distribution.
